Describe how you organized the information you have about this project and about car safety features – I listed all the vital information on the car safety worksheet we were given in class.
Describe how you evaluated the information to decide which features to include in your car. -I decided which would be more convenient to include in my car, but in the end i added all of the features listed in the worksheet. The car was made for parents who wanted to buy their child a safe, first car. With that in mind i found that it was best to include all safety features to make the egg safer, which was up to part considering the egg didn’t crack in any way.
“The basic idea of a seatbelt is very simple: It keeps you from flying through the windshield or hurdling toward the dashboard when your car comes to an abrupt stop. Anything that is in the car, including the driver and passengers, has its own inertia, which is separate from the car’s inertia.” stated in the Seatbelt section in the worksheet given in class. Also, “Stopping an object’s momentum requires force acting over a period of time. When a car crashes, the force required to stop an object is very great because the car’s momentum has changed instantly while the passengers’ has not ” which was stated in the Airbag section in the worksheet given in class.
We had to make a car that would protect an egg, as well as remain under 15cm long, have at least 2 features from the the car safety worksheet, as well as contain wheels and a seat.
- Consider Alternate Methods:
Other ways i could’ve created my car would’ve been using push-up pops, as wheels. Also using insulation as an airbag, so when the car crashes theres a bounce to it, which removes some damage done to the egg.
